Prior to her arrival in Ithaca, Kerrie was trained in fine arts in Philadelphia, obtaining a B.F.A. in painting. She spent a decade involved in various retail experiences in Philly, until she and her husband Scott decided to relocate to Ithaca. Looking for a new vocational direction, Kerrie accepted an offer from Rob to help in building the first duplex of the second neighborhood group (SONG) at EcoVillage at Ithaca. That was her first experience in building, and she found it came very easily to her. When the opportunity arose to learn to install tile, Kerrie took to it naturally, soon finding her work in demand among the growing population at Ecovillage. In 2004 Kerrie and Scott purchased their own home, and have been converting it to be more energy efficient and 'green'.
Kerrie has always been interested in beauty being an essential element in one’s everyday environment. She has found that building offers a concrete way to help others realize a space that reflects their own sense of what is beautiful and uniquely theirs.
